CityScaling Project
CityScaling is a scientific research project of the GSRI gmbh in cooperation with the Gartenheim eg housing corporation in Hannover. The project team of Gunter Haese investigates development, movement and distribution processes in urban structures based on fractal models of 3D-projections of the proton resonance wave lenght spectrum.
A general Global Scaling map of Hannover including its peripheries was drawn for the Gartenheim eG housing corporation, which shows the current, or potential locations of settlements that are worth considering for Gartenheim. The map gives a district overview of housing objects that are worth considering for investment, it shows stagnating regions and other. The cooperative possesses a total of roughly 4.100 housing units distributed throughout the town, that are in comparably good condition.
During this project the most important node ranges, sub-node ranges and sub-gaps of the fundamental fractal were displayed graphically – as precise as the justifiable effort permitted this work to be done for the entire of Hannover – and then documented in such a way as to help Gartenheim to make its future investment decisions. A special attention was paid to the cooperative's already existing locations.
Besides that, a detailed Global Scaling analysis of all cooperative's locations was made, which permits to make statements in respect to the following:
- Which existing settlements are especially well-suited for their purpose?
- What objects are worth future-oriented investments?
- Which objects could be optimised within regrouping strategies?
- Which areas of Hannover are specifically well suited for real estate or property purchase?
- Which areas of Hannover are to be considered as areas with economic growth?
The placing of the Global Scaling cartography was carried out locally by GPS measurements with GS- noise sensing – technology. Basic results of the Global Scaling analysis of Hannover's urban area could already be verified by experience values of the Gartenheim housing cooperative.
